Meet our Board Members:

Patricia Healey

Chair and Mayoral Appointee

Term ending June 30 2028

Patricia Healey was appointed to the Board of Commissioners in February 2025 by Northampton Mayor Sciarra in February 2025 and has been the Chairperson since October 2025. She served on the Northampton Council on Aging, and the Northampton Charter Review Committee. Patty, an ICU RN, retired from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, later worked as a Case Manager at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, and as an Addictions Nurse in a rehab setting for women.
A lifelong union activist, she has served on the Board of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, and has advocated for universal healthcare for all as a Board member of MassCare: Massachusetts Campaign for Single Payer Healthcare.

Access to safe, affordable, quality housing is fundamental to improving health and reducing the risk of serious illness. Addressing health inequities and the social determinants of health requires action and commitment by all parts of civil society and government. I hope to contribute to building a healthier and safer public housing community in Northampton.

William H. Abrashkin

 

After serving as First Justice of the Housing Court, Western Division, for 22 years, I was appointed as Executive Director of the Springfield, MA Housing Authority, a position I held for an additional 10 years. After my retirement in 2018 I served as Interim Executive Director of two other housing authorities in the western MA region. I have served as a mediator and arbitrator for the Dispute Resolution program of the Real Estate Bar Association, and as a hearing officer for housing authorities in western MA.

Jim Nash

Jim Nash, appointed to the NHA Board of Commissioners in December 2025 by Governor Healey, joins the commission after seven years on City Council representing Northampton’s Ward 3. He served as Council President from January 2022 – January 2024. While in elected office he established a strong record of engagement with constituents living at Salvo House and Cahill Apartments. He also cast his vote in support of Northampton’s successful Home Rule Petition to expand resident representation on the NHA Board of Commissioners. He is proud to continue his service to his neighbors throughout the county who live in public housing.
